Flugplätze ist ein eine künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit ehemaligen sowjetischen Luftstützpunkten in Ostdeutschland.
Während eines Stipendiums hatte ich die Möglichkeit mich intensiv mit diesen Orten zu beschäftigen. Ich konnte Aufnahmen machen und verschiedene Umnutzungen beobachten. Mir geht es um ein Abtasten dieser Erinnerungsräume, die Geschichte und Ideologie prägnant speichern. Hinter diesen Bemühungen steht meine Biografie als zur Wendezeit Geborene, die versucht, sich im Hier und Jetzt zu verorten.
Es entsteht eine multimediale Installation aus exemplarischen Videoporträts dieser Orte, die dokumentarisches Material mit bildhauerischen Aspekten in Bild und Ton verbindet.
Airfields is an artistic exploration of former Soviet air bases in East Germany.
During a scholarship I had the opportunity to study these places in depth. I was able to take pictures and observe various conversions. I am interested in exploring these spaces of memory that succinctly store history and ideology. Behind these efforts is my biography as someone born at the time of reunification, who is trying to locate herself in the here and now.
A multimedia installation is being created from exemplary video portraits of these places, combining documentary material with sculptural aspects in image and sound.
